The Early Warning Siren System for the Tooele Chemical Depot is comprised of many Whelen WPS-2806 and WPS-2810 sirens, located throughout Tooele County. The Early Warning Siren System for the Tooele Chemical Depot is comprised of many Whelen WPS-2806 and WPS-2810 sirens, located throughout Tooele County. The sirens replaced a previous system of few Sterling sirens, as well as a Thunderbolt 1003 and many 3T22s.
The system is tested weekley on Wednesday at 4PM in 30 seconds of whoop, with a test message after the test stating, "This is a test. This is a test of the Tooele County Emergency Warning System. This is a test and only a test". The system will sound in whoop in the event of a hazardous material spill, for natural disasters, or for any other emergency if necessary. For some volunteer fire stations, they sound the unit at the fire station in wail.
