The Modulator II is an electronic siren produced by [[:Category:Federal Signal Corporation|Federal Signal Corporation]]. It is the second generation in the Modulator series. It is comprised of cells that contain four 100 watt compression driver speakers a piece, with a "dummy" cell that is empty to help even out sound distribution. The siren works by sound being projected downward through an opening underneath each cell, it then bounces off the top of the cell underneath the opening and is projected outward. The "dummy" on the bottom does not contain any speakers, it is used to help even out the sound distribution from the last active cell in the stack.

The Modulator is an electronic siren produced by Federal Signal Corporation.

Models

The Modulator was available in eight models, the MOD1004, MOD2008, MOD3012, MOD4016, MOD5020, MOD6024, MOD6032 and MOD6048. The models can be identified by the number if cells the siren has, but the model numbers only correspond to the number of active cells it has and the total number of speaker drivers. (E.g. The MOD2008 means it has 2 active cells, plus 1 "dummy" cell, and 8 total drivers.)
