I have lived in Upstate New York my entire life, living in the Capital District for most, and in Rochester for about seven years. These locations are particularly special, with Sterling being headquartered in Rochester, and the Capital District having a mix of old Federal Signal, Sterling, and even a few Darley and GCS types still in regular use. I have been a siren enthusiast for many years, and began my reserch into the topic when I was in middle school. Since then, I have become a volunteeer firefighter, which opened up a new avenue of interest in sirens--vehicular. I hope not to spam the wiki with numerous small articles, but to add as much as I can research with these, and perhaps with larger sirens as well. One thing to note is my experience with reviewing and editing articles written for a small online publication, studying under associates who have experience in the publishing business. If an article needs reviewing, please send me a message on the forums, and I would be willing to proofread for mistakes. It always helps to have another set of eyes on something.
