Alerting Communicators of America (ACA) was a department of the Biersach and Niedermeyer Company (BNCO) formed in 1967, when the fourth generation owner James E. Biersach returned to Milwaukee from duty in the Navy. ACA produced many successful sirens such as the Allertor-125 and the Penetrator sirens, but financial troubles in the mid 1990s caused BNCO to sell ACA to to a local businessman Gustave Wirth and Sage Alerting Inc, who several years later sold of their shares to HÖRMANN Warnsysteme. Gus (Sandy) Wirth during the restructuring of BNCO created ACA as a separate corporation instead of a department of BNCO and renamed the company American Signal Corporation (ASC), which is still in business today. In April of 1999 American Signal Corporation was purchased by former ASC General Manager and then current owner of Excel Alerting Systems, LLC., Dale Moeller.
