General

The 2/3T22 was an omnidirectional siren produced by Federal Signal Corporation. The design features a single motor in the middle with a twelve-port rotor/stator set on top and a 10-port set on bottom. Both rotors measured 14 inches in diameter, and are identical to rotors used on the model 3 and 2001. The 3T22 model featured solenoids attached to the top and bottom intakes to produce a third signal. The 2T22 lacked the additional signal option.

Both models were available in single and three phase versions. Three phase models used either a GE (early) or Marathon 10 horsepower motor. The only motor used on the single phase model was the Northwestern Electric 7 1/2 horsepower repulsion-induction motor.

A fully assembled siren weighs close to 700 pounds, including the pole mount bracket.
