Unlike their northern counterparts, South American sirens are lesser known and rarely mentioned. Despite this, the siren market in South America is alive and well, with several manufacturers and distributors located across the continent. Sirens in South America are used for varying purposes, most commonly floods, earthquakes, and industrial accidents. Traditional electromechanical sirens are most common to see, though electronic sirens are close behind.
