Type S0

Type S4A is an omnidirectional electromechanical siren and a smaller Type S siren.

Type S2

Type S2A

Type S3

Type S4/S4B

Type S4A is an omnidirectional electromechanical siren and a smaller Type S siren.

Type S4A

Type S4A is an omnidirectional electromechanical siren and a larger Type S siren. Type S4A uses either an 11-port high tone "tweeter" (German: hochton) or 3-port low tone (German: tiefton) rotor and stator, with a grille wrapped around the stator to protect debris from entering the siren. A flange below the stator directs the siren's sound downwards and outwards. 4 struts extend inwards from the flange and connect to the motor; this assembly supports a circular grille which further protects the siren. Type S4A is powered by a 220/380 V 2.2 kW (2.9 hp) asynchronous 3 ph electric motor underneath the stator driving the rotor at around 2800 rpm, brought up to this speed around 2-4 seconds after activation. A large protective roof shielding the siren from the elements is fixed above the siren from varying heights via 4 lugs placed around the edges of the stator. The roof is constructed out of steel, which makes it susceptible to warping and being dented. Many Type S4A sirens can also be found with other variations of protective roofs, most triangular in shape similar to the rest of the Type S sirens. A rounded triangular base with 3 holes in each corner, allows Type S4A to be bolted to a flat surface. 3 curved flanges are present where the motor and base meet.

Type S4B

Type S4B is an omnidirectional electromechanical siren and a larger Type S siren.

Type S5

Type S5, sometimes stamped as Type SV, is an omnidirectional electromechanical siren and a larger Type S siren. Type S5 uses a 9-port rotor and stator, with welded wire mesh wrapped around the stator to protect debris from entering the siren. 9 curved flanges are present where the stator and motor meet. Type S5 is powered by a 220/380 V 4.85 kW (6.5 hp) asynchronous 3 ph electric motor underneath the stator driving the rotor at around 2800 rpm, brought up to this speed around 2-4 seconds after activation. The siren peaks at a pitch of around 425 Hz. A conical roof is held above the stator with at most 8 support struts. A louver which is larger in diameter than the roof is bolted to the top of the stator and helps propagates the siren's sound downwards and outwards. A flanged circular base with 4 recessed holes allows Type S5 to be bolted to a flat surface. Type S5 is visually identical to Type L1, but differs in
