Altec Lansing was among the first companies to create electronic “Giant Voice” electronic siren systems. Most units have been removed but at least one still remains in Huntsville, AL.
History and design
Altec Lansings have been installed all over the south & midwest. Each siren used 3-4 10 cell speakers. The Altecs were controlled by a central control unit inside the place where they test the sirens.
