Europe has a very wide variety of siren models and manufacturers that produce sirens for many different purposes. Due to the lack of severe weather in Europe, sirens are rarely used for severe weather alerts and are instead most often used for warning about attacks, chemical spills, or floods. Most countries use electronic sirens, though some, like Germany, still have mechanical sirens in service as well. For ease of navigation, sirens from the United Kingdom will also be placed into this category.
