Genave/NRC, Incorporated (also known as Genave or Genave Electronics) is a Farmington, MN-based manufacturer of electronic sirens and other communication equipment. As of 2019, all of Genave's products have been discontinued, as according to the company themselves, the chip used for the decoder is no longer available and no feasible replacement is available. It remains to be seen if a new design will be produced.

Sirens

Alert-150

The Alert-150 (also named the ALERT-150, Alert 150-AC, or Alert 150) is an omnidirectional siren that was produced by Genave, and was essentially a cheaper alternative to the Alert-600, at the price of reduced performance. The siren makes use of 4 horns which are mounted to a central hub which allows the speakers to be mounted in a variety of configurations. Interestingly, the Alert-150 is not listed on Genave's website. The siren is designed to either be mounted to a pipe, a pole, or a parapet. The siren is also supplied with a special mount for mounting the head to a wood pole, a parapet, or a pipe that either has an outside diameter of 2-1/2” or is not threaded. The siren can also be ceiling-mounted via the 4 suspension openings on the hub.

Alert-600

The Alert-600 (also named the ALERT-600 or Alert 600) is an omnidirectional electronic siren that was produced by Genave. The siren makes use of 4 large exponential horns powered by 100 W drivers, housed in an octagonal enclosure. The siren is designed to either be mounted to a pipe or a pole; pole-mounted Alert-600 units are supplied with a special mount. The siren can also be ceiling mounted, via the 4 eyebolts located on top of the driver enclosure. The siren's head weighs around 69-80 lbs (the exact weight of the siren varies in Genave's literature), allowing it to be shipped relatively easily through FedEx or UPS. Its controls are housed inside a NEMA-4X-rated cabinet, which contains 4 100 W amplifiers, a fuse panel, and a control board. Solar-powered options are also available for the siren. The Alert-600's single Optima D34M battery is stored in a smaller enclosure beneath the control cabinet and mounted on the same bracket. The control cabinet (excluding the battery cabinet) weighs around 46 lbs. The siren comes with battery backup by default but can be removed upon buyer request. The Alert-600 comes stock with 4 tones and is voice-capable, being able to play PA messages and MP3 files. The siren runs on 100 to 240 V AC.
